"Hmmm, I Think We Forgot Something" – Two mischievous little bears, brimming with excitement, set off on a grand adventure in their tiny red boat, convinced they’ve pulled off the ultimate escapade. No parents, no rules—just smooth sailing ahead! Or so they thought. As the water gently rocks their boat, a sudden realization dawns… they forgot the oars. Oops. The thrill of rebellion quickly turns into a wide-eyed moment of "uh-oh," a feeling all too familiar to anyone who’s ever made a spur-of-the-moment decision without thinking it through (teenage Michele, we’re looking at you). Inspired by those carefree days of pushing boundaries while our parents were away—forgetting just one tiny but crucial detail—this painting is a playful nod to the wild, wonderful misadventures of growing up.

With a nod to the beloved bear of my childhood, Paddlington Bear takes to the water, rowing merrily, merrily, down the stream. His little boat drifts effortlessly, the rhythm of the oars keeping time with the gentle current. He is unbothered by where the stream leads—content in the simple joy of floating forward, embracing the unknown with a heart full of adventure.
Much like the stories of Paddington Bear that once filled my imagination, this painting carries a sense of curiosity, playfulness, and quiet determination. There’s something both nostalgic and freeing about setting off on a journey, trusting the water to carry you where you’re meant to go. To let go of your worries and the only task at hand is to enjoy the ride.
In Paddlington Bear, I see the spirit of childhood—where every day holds a new adventure, and every journey is one worth taking.

Honey, I Shrunk the Boat was inspired by the amusing yet relatable moments when we find ourselves squeezing into something that just doesn’t quite fit—whether it’s a too-small chair, a tiny car, or our favorite jeans after a big holiday feast. This big, fully bear sits in a boat that’s just a little to small for him, yet he remains content, making the most of the situation. He looks about as comfortable as someone trying to convince themselves they can still move freely in those post-dinner jeans, knowing full well they should have opted for the stretchy ones. It’s a playful reminder that sometimes, even when things aren’t quite the right fit, we roll with it anyway.
