  • There’s a unique kind of strength in quiet confidence—a presence that doesn’t need to shout to be heard. This strong blue bear reminds us of the beauty in knowing your worth and standing firm in your values while staying open to the ideas and stories of others. It’s a lesson in balance: being self-assured without shutting out the world, creating space for connection without losing yourself.

“Pawsing Confidently” is a painting that is that gentle hand on your shoulder to remind you to slow down and trust the wisdom that comes from within. Life often forces us to rush, to act, to prove ourselves to all those around us. But sometimes, the bravest thing we can do is pause—to reflect, to listen, to breathe deeply and simply be. In that stillness, we often find clarity, purpose, and the courage to take our next step with intention. For ourselves, with confidence and free of the burden of pleasing others.

What sets this bear apart is his quiet humility—free of arrogance yet carrying an approachable warmth that draws others in. He doesn’t take up space by force; instead, he creates it for others to share freely, without fear of judgment. There’s a kindness in his demeanor that reminds us confidence isn’t about being the loudest in the room but about being secure enough to welcome others as they are. So take a “paws”, and in your own way, embrace the strength that comes from standing tall with a heart wide open.

  • "Blue Remembers You" is an incredibly special piece in my Blue Bear Collection. It was inspired by a photo of a very special person in my life, taken as she looked up into the eyes of one of her most precious loves—her horses. Painting this bear was a journey of remembrance. It wasn’t just about creating a work of art; it was about reconnecting with the spirit of this loved one. Her love of horses, and how they were such an integral part of her heart. Next to her family, horses gave her purpose, peace, and inspiration, just as the mountains do for me.

This strong but gentle bear is a dedication to those special people we’ve lost, whose memories still live within us, shaping who we are. We may no longer have them by our side, but their impact on our lives will always remain. The things that brought them joy and purpose—like my mom’s love for her horses—serve as reminders of how deeply they’ve touched us.

With Blue Remembers You, my hope is that it will make you pause and reflect on the people who are no longer here but whose love and influence are still felt in every corner of your heart. May their memory remind you of the importance they had in your life, and may it inspire you to carry forward their legacy, just as I carry my mom's with me.

Beyond their colourful, textured fur, these bears represent something profound—a reminder of the importance of family and community bonds, which are an important piece of the fabric of our lives.

As you gaze upon this artwork, my hope is you are reminded of the age-old adage: "It takes a village to raise a family." In the images of these beautiful blue bears, I wish for you to see a reflection of yourself, as well as people supporting one another in their own unique ways. Just like nature, which provides us with timeless lessons, we learn from these bears how to celebrate, protect, and nurture our families and communities. We discover that living in harmony with each other and the soulful wonders of the wild is an art, a practice of unity, collaboration, understanding, and acceptance.

Nature, in all it’s beauty and wonder, teaches us the art of connection and finding inspiration in the world around us. My wish is you are able to draw inspiration from these furry friends and, in the spirit of community, not only celebrate the bonds that surround us but also cherish the extraordinary beauty of the place you call home.

  • As a mother of two wonderful children, I found inspiration in memories of their childhood and created this painting that encapsulates the essence of cherished memories and a profound love I have for these two beautiful souls. This evocative painting portrays a heartfelt image of a mamma bear and her two cubs walking away from the viewer, symbolizing the bittersweet transition as children grow and embark on their own life's journeys. My intention is for you to gaze upon this painting and to elicit a personal reaction, embracing your own memories of raising a family. Regardless of our children's age, the footsteps left behind are the beautiful memories close to our hearts and never forgotten.

With each step taken through life, this loving mamma bear gently guides her cubs, leaving behind a trail of precious memories. The painting serves as a reminder of those tender moments when children relied on their parents for support, holding their tiny hands while walking them to school for the first time, comforting them after a fall from their bike, or giving a piggyback ride when their little legs grew weary. As these little cubs prepare to venture into the world beyond their den, I hope the textured brush strokes across the canvas evoke a sense of nostalgia and remind you of your own treasured memories of little loved ones close to you, both young or now grown, embracing the beauty of every memory left behind by each little blue footprint.

  • Petulant Blue Gaze” captures a moment of raw emotion, where this textured blue bear’s intense, seemingly angry expression hides the softness within. At first glance, the bear's gaze appears sharp,  almost as though he is bracing himself against the world. But if we look closer, we begin to sense the vulnerability beneath this protective exterior. The bear's gaze, though fierce and intense, seems to guard a deeper, more delicate part of itself, one that might be easily overlooked if we only focus on what’s on the surface.

This painting reflects something I’ve often felt myself, the tension between showing strength and protecting the parts of us that feel fragile. Life sometimes demands that we present a tough front, but the truth is, we all have softer places inside that we are learning to protect. Petulant Blue Gaze speaks to that balance—how, beneath the surface of intensity, there’s tenderness waiting to be recognized and embraced. It’s a reminder that our vulnerabilities don’t make us weak; rather, they make us whole. The blue tones of the bear reflect both calm and depth, offering an invitation to explore our own complexities and acknowledge the beauty of our hidden layers.

  • "Somebody Take Blue to the Den" is a heartfelt reminder of those sweet, slightly comical moments when my kids were little and would fall asleep in the most random places. You know the ones—midway through lunch in their high chair, sprawled out on the floor of the playroom, or even on the couch, looking like little angels who couldn’t be bothered to make it to bed. And there I was, tiptoeing around them, trying not to wake them up, knowing I had to get them to their bed before they woke up on their own and turned into wide-eyed little bundles of energy again.

There’s something so peaceful about watching them sleep, not wanting to disturb their innocence and peace. But there were times when I had no choice but to move them to the comfort of their own bed. It was always a delicate operation—picking them up as carefully as possible without disturbing their perfect little faces. I’d hold my breath, thinking, please don’t wake up, please don’t wake up, while gently carrying them to their room, knowing that one wrong move would have them wide awake and ready for playtime. Blue here on his log is a nod to those precious moments when my kids would be lost in sleep, and I had to decide whether to let them be or carefully carry them to bed, savouring that beautiful moment of stillness.

  • "School Photo Day for Blue Bear Boo" is a sweet reminder of those childhood days when we'd put on our favourite outfit, whether it was mom-approved or not—and take a little extra time to get ready for school. There was something special about those days, the excitement of getting your school picture taken, and the joy of passing out those little portrait photos to friends. We’d share them, like a little piece of ourselves, and then trade notes during class, giggling and making memories. To this day, I still have all those little school photos tucked away, each one carrying with it a flood of childhood memories, those simple but precious moments shared with friends back then. It’s the small things, like the smile that comes over my face when I find those old photos in my memory box of those childhood friends.

  • "Big Blue Ben" was born from those quiet moments as a parent, watching my children play freely while I stand just close enough to keep an eye on them. There’s a powerful calm in those moments—like the bear sitting high on its log, keeping watch over its domain. As a parent, you feel that same protective instinct, knowing when to step in and when to let them explore on their own. The bear’s gentle yet strong presence embodies that tender protection, standing guard while offering the space for adventure. It’s the stillness of knowing they’re safe, even when they’re lost in their own little world.

The painting takes me back to those times when I watched my kids run, play, laugh, and learn without fear, while I quietly ensured everything was okay. It’s a beautiful, sometimes bittersweet feeling—being there, always present, but giving them the room they need to grow. Like Big Blue Ben, it’s about finding that balance between standing watch and letting go, being the protector while also embracing the peace that comes from trusting them to find their own way. And just like that bear, we as parents also need moments to rest, to breathe, and to appreciate the little victories in letting our children be free.
